Projections - Population and characteristics of the future
Projections tell about the population at future dates. They
illustrate plausible courses of future population changes based on assumptions
about future births, deaths and migration.
If you want the most recent information about current population, see
Estimates.
Our most recent projections for total population, age,
and sex, extend through 2060 (for the state of Minnesota) and through 2040 (for
counties). These projections incorporate 2010 Census data. Users should note
that updates are forthcoming to the projection files for certain subgroups (such as households,
labor force, racial groups, etc.) that extend through 2035.
